Gossip Girl Sneak Peek: The Two Blair Waldorfs

$

Blair certainly made a fashion splash this week, for better or worse. In this sneak peek from next Monday's Gossip Girl, the younger Waldorf hears about it from Eleanor regarding the disaster that was Cotillion.

As Eleanor sees it, there are two Blairs, and one of them has got to go:

In "Where the Vile Things Are," B braces herself for her mom's imminent arrival, as teased at the end of "Monstrous Ball," but is unprepared for the demands - and tone - Eleanor brings with her to NYC.

Will Blair's dark, scheming, sexually deviant side win out? Or will the intelligent, upstanding, business savvy woman within her triumph, as her mom demands if she is to be the CEO of a major corporation?

Can the two sides of Blair really be separated? Food for thought.

As we were reminded again this week, her future with Chuck may depend on her success with Waldorf Designs. Share your thoughts on the above clip and predictions for Monday's episode with us below.

On the December 3 episode of Gossip Girl, the eighth installment of the sixth and final season, Serena and Dan will host a holiday feast as the once and possibly future couple decides to throw their first Thanksgiving together.

They invite only their closest friends, but everyone seems to have their own agenda ... obviously.

Meanwhile, feeling defeated by his father, Chuck begins a downward spiral, leaving Blair to find a solution to his problems. Finally, author Dan has written his latest expose, and it's a doozy.

Publishing it is a different story, however, as doing so will likely destroy a close friendship.

Should be interesting. Click to enlarge photos from "It's Really Complicated" below:

Gossip Girl Review: Let Your Dark Side Shine

As loyal Gossip Girl fans, there’s nothing more we love than walking down memory lane. "Where the Vile Things Are" was the perfect mix of scheming, plotting and undermining.

After last week’s disastrous cotillion, Eleanor finally returned to call out Blair on her immaturity and lack of professionalism. After all, Blair’s “dark side” has caused her to screw up multiple times recently and even her own mother has had enough of her.

B and E

Dan published yet another truth-telling article calling B the “Queen of Scheme." It’s no surprise she’s hardly changed from her high school days of manipulation and scheming, and Eleanor wants her deviant side gone for good if she plans on running the company.

After unsuccessfully trying to blackmail Nelly, mother dearest sees that B just isn’t trying hard enough; she’s booted from the company and moves on to trying to blackmail Dan by threatening him with the return of Vanessa if he doesn’t retract his article.

B apologized to Eleanor and even resigned, but later realizes that she wants to design a line for high school girls inspired by her old Constance uniform. Eleanor actually liked the idea and the two Waldorf women were back in business. Does this mean that B’s going to bring headbands back?! Has she finally found her calling?

As for Derena, shippers were probably ecstatic because they are definitely back on. The nods to Gossip Girl Season 1 were everywhere to be found when Serena finally got the Vespa ride she always wanted and even admitted to hustling Dan on their first date. Then, there was that infamous elevator scene.

The sparks were certainly flying as we were reminded by some of the best Derena moments.

Finally, S asked Dan to stay over and of course he accepted the offer.

Elsewhere, Chuck is still digging to find evidence of Bart’s incriminating oil deal. With Nate’s help in searching the VDW loft and even stealing one of Bart’s employee’s phones, they find out that the evidence was hidden behind a painting on auction at Lily’s benefit for the art world.

Much to Lily’s dismay, it was also the benefit she’s sharing hosting duties with both Rufus and Ivy (deemed as a Charlatan, gypsy trash, and interloper by Lily, of course). There was lots of money being thrown around for donating as the two feisty, catty blondes tried to one up one another relentlessly.

The bidding began, and Chuck arrived just in time to raise the stakes. Millions of dollars later and with Chuck, Lily and Ivy distracted, Rufus was the lucky winner of the much desired painting. Lily nearly begged for the painting back and Ivy couldn’t care less.

It was Chuck’s turn to make an offer – for which he paid double – to only find out that the hidden documents were missing. How could he seriously trust Ivy of all people to have the painting delivered in tact? Well, now Ivy’s got the evidence. What’s the psychopath going to do with it now?

Other Thoughts

  • Georgina was MIA. I couldn’t be happier. How about you?
  • Dan "Humpfreak"...
  • Jenny Humphrey got a mention by B. Maybe it’s time she brought back ‘lil J to help with the new line.
  • Last week, Ivy easily got into the Van der Woodsen’s loft. This week, it was Nate’s turn. Who’s next?!
  • Who was Ivy on the phone with at the end? Could it be Lola or someone else?

Overall, this was a drama-filled stellar hour that just might have been the strongest episode yet of this final season. With less than a handful of episodes left, the countdown to the finale begin!

On last night's Gossip Girl, fans were treated to a vintage mix of scheming, plotting and undermining, not to mention a major walk down memory lane in the form of one of the CW drama's one-time core couples.

Sparks were flying with nods to Season 1 abound as we remembered some Dan-Serena moments past, while the duo took a big step toward reconciling and potentially ending the series as romantic partners once again.

Fan? Not a fan?

Opinions on Derena will surely vary, as they do with most things Gossip Girl. With just four episodes to go, we'll find out what the series endgame is for that couple - and others - in less than one month. Crazy.

Looking ahead to next week, Serena and Dan realize they need to make amends with the people they have wronged, while S teams up with B to help craft an "it" look for Sage that will win Eleanor's approval.

Elsewhere, Chuck is close to getting the evidence he needs against his father, until one of his closest allies reveals his plan to Bart. From the looks of the promo below, it doesn't look like it ends well for Chair.

Gossip Girl Round Table: "Where the Vile Things Are"

Welcome back, once again, to TV Fanatic's weekly Gossip Girl Round Table Q&A discussion! Below, our panelists break down all aspects of this week's Gossip Girl, "Where the Vile Things Are."

In our Q&A session, TVF editor Steve Marsi and staff members Christina Tran, Leigh Raines and Courtney Morrison share their opinions on everything that went down on the Upper East Side.

Weigh in with your take on the following topics after reading ours!

-------------------------------

1. Favorite quote or scene from the episode?

Courtney: I loved the scenes between Blair and Eleanor, but my favorite quote goes to a low blow from Queen B to Nelly: "Then why are you still sitting below me on the steps?" Classic throwback.

Leigh: This is so weird but "It's the people you know best who can hurt you the worst." Serena VDW has never been so well spoken.

Christina: Blair: "Hold it right there, Humpfreak!" I sincerely missed the Dan jabs.

Steve: B recalling that she'd been cordial for 52 minutes. Not that she's counting.

Gossip Girl Final Season Round Table Logo

2. Blair's devising a line based on her Constance school uniform: Is this her best idea yet or will it be another fashion disaster?

Courtney: Ehhh, not too sure. Could be super cute and fun or it could be a giant mess. I'm thinking since it's the end of the series... it will be a hit.

Leigh: I think it'll be a hit now that Blair is letting her dark side work with her light side! Gotta have the balance.

Christina: Well, one thing's for sure: Blair never looked better than in Gossip Girl Season 1 or 2. She definitely knew how to rock her uniforms, so I guess it's time for her to bring back the headband.

Steve: A wise fashion designer once said that everything old becomes new again. NOTE: I don't actually know if that's true, but there could be something vintage and old school about B's new idea.

3. Georgina was MIA. Did you miss her?

Courtney: Nope, NOT AT ALL.

Leigh: I missed G. She's hilarious.

Christina: I'm with Courtney on this one. It may be wishful thinking, but I hope we've seen the last of her.

Steve: While I recognize that she's often inserted into the plot in absurd ways, I'm with Leigh. The girl has so many of the best Gossip Girl quotes and there's never a dull moment. Poorly written, maybe. But not dull.

4. Derena is back on: thumbs up or thumbs down?

Courtney: Thumbs up. Only because their parents are no longer together and doesn't look like that's going to happen again.

Leigh: Serena is too quick to forgive. I kinda dug it though. Season 1 vibes.

Christina: Thumbs down because I'm still rooting for Serenate!

Steve: Call me a sucker for old school Gossip Girl, but thumbs up because they might as well end the series the way it began ... either that or have the relationship implode again in even more spectacular fashion.

5. What was your favorite Ivy insult?

Courtney: Ivy blasting Lily at the art auction was pretty impressive, especially when she told her that she wants to be better than her and Rufus already thinks she is. Burn!

Leigh: The best dig was really by Rufus. He is the one guy who would never reduce himself to "revenge smut." When he's turned on Lily for good, you know she deserves it.

Christina: It's so hard to choose because I loved every bit of Lily's snarky remarks and even Ivy's constant one-upping. I'll go with "gypsy trash" though.

Steve: "Listen, you vile little interloper. You and Rufus may have rubbed your last two nickels together to replace my art, but the only people that you are making fools of are yourselves." That's just brutal.

6. Who was on the other end of Ivy's mysterious phone call?

Courtney: I'm hoping it's not Lola because that girl was boring. Possibly Serena's dad? I wouldn't mind having a Baldwin back on set.

Leigh: Courtney is sooo right, I didn't even think of it at first. Billy Baldwin is coming back!!! He was photographed on set! Eww how old is Ivy, please say older than we think.

Christina: Scott, Lily and Rufus's love child. How crazy would that be?!

Steve: Gossip Girl! Or Juliet or Eric or Jenny or Jack or William. If I just keep throwing out characters from seasons past that are set to return this fall I figure I'll nail it eventually.

What do you think? Sound off in the comments!

Gossip Girl Review: Headbands and Heartbreak

The countdown is on. With only a few episodes remaining in the final season of Gossip Girl, the series tries to bring it this week. Let’s discuss "Save the Last Chance."

Is Derena Back On? Things looked promising when the hour started off with Dan and Serena still in bed together. The two decided they need to make amends with their friends before they even think about getting back together and letting people know about it. Mission accomplished.

So these two are back together. Good idea? Doubtful. Looks like Good Guy Dan really is long gone, proving so when Georgina made a quick appearance to find out that S will be the next chapter. Sorry, Serena, your luck hasn’t improved yet.

Cute Dan and Serena Picture

Basshole Drama. This arc needs to come to an end. Not only did it take up the majority of the installment, but it led nowhere once again. Father and son fight for drama. Ex-husband brings evidence to ex-wife who burns it. Somehow in this mess, Ivy ended up half naked. Pretty much the only good part to come out of it. Ivy tried to make deals with the Bass’ to destroy Lily. Didn’t happen. Chuck tried to stop Lily from burning the evidence. Didn’t happen. Really, the same as other episodes this season. A lot of build up for nothing big to come out of it.

At least there were some interesting new relationships. Bart became Nate’s partner so he can own him. This won’t last long. If there is one thing that Man Bangs is good for, it is standing up to the elder Bass. Gorgeous and tough. Thank you, CW, for putting Chase Crawford on our screen every week. Now just get him to take his shirt off. It’s been a few weeks...

Cute Blair and Chuck Picture

In a completely creepy twist, Ivy is digging her claws into another older man. Welcome back, Billy Baldwin! Serena’s absentee father returned to make out with Ivy and prove the two had been working together to destroy Lily (called it)! William didn’t seem to interested in the scratchy throat vixen by the end of the hour. Could this all be a plot to destroy Ivy?

Anyone else think that Ivy with William is creepier than being with Rufus?

Speaking of Rufus: what are you thinking about returning the evidence to Lily? Girl dropped you when her dead husband showed up. You can not possibly be that nice!

Queen B Returns. Blair’s pop up show was a success, even with the scheming of Sage and the other high school minions. Best part about it? B brought back the headband! Worst part about it? Her success highlighted Chuck’s failure, as he now thinks they can’t be together anymore. Make a decision, you two.

B Fashion Show

Overall, a pretty solid episode for the final season of GG. What did you think, TV Fanatics? Was “Save The Last Chance” up to par for an episode so close to the end? Check back for the Gossip Girl Round Table and visit our Gossip Girl quotes for the top stinging one-liners.

Just three episodes to go on Gossip Girl, and many mysteries still to be solved.

Next Monday, "It's Really Complicated" for Dan and Serena, who host a Thanksgiving feast ... in December. The episode was supposed to air a week earlier before Hurricane Sandy pushed everything back, of course.

Picking up where last night's Gossip Girl episode left off, the apparently back together Derena decides to invite only their closest friends, but everyone seems to have their own agenda for attending the dinner.

Meanwhile, Dan has written his next expose, but faces a tough decision on whether to publish it, and Chuck begins to spiral out of control after being bested by Bart, leaving Blair searching for a possible solution.

In our Q&A session, TVF editor Steve Marsi and staff members Christina Tran, Leigh Raines and Courtney Morrison share their opinions on everything that went down on the Upper East Side.

Weigh in with your take on the following topics after reading ours!

-------------------------------

1. What was your favorite quote or scene from the episode?

Courtney: Hate Bart Bass... love his quote: "Where are you going? Blair need you to come over and kill a spider?"

Leigh: Ivy's comment that if she had to eat another waffle she'd throw up or die or something. Touche!

Christina: Nate: “Who would have thought... Chuck Bass turns out to be the good guy, and Dan Humphrey is the villain." Nate's never looked better and I'm fairly certain he's as wise as ever, too.

Steve: I'm always a fan of the Eliot Spitzer-style political references one-tenth of the views probably get (Lily calling Serena a teenage Rielle Hunter being another favorite), but I have to agree with Courtney on this one. Bart really got him with that one, especially given that he's criticized Chuck relentlessly for his Blair obsession over the years.

Gossip Girl Final Season Round Table Logo

2. More disturbing: Ivy and Rufus or Ivy and William?

Courtney: Definitely Ivy and William. I had just gotten used to the Brooklyn couple and Ivy had to go all fatherly figure elsewhere. I get a very creepy vibe from these two. And obviously, William has another trick up his sleeve.

Leigh: Probably Ivy and William because she impersonated one of his daughters. Incest is not best my friend.

Christina: EW on both accounts. I can't pick either because both are equally disturbing to me.

Steve: Gotta go William there. Something about boning one's fake daughter just doesn't sit well with me.

3. Should Lily have burned the evidence on Bart or is there a backup somewhere?

Courtney: I don't know if it will be Lily or Rufus, but one of them is not that stupid and has to have a copy. I would hope so ...

Leigh: Somebody else somewhere has to have something to take down Bart Bass. He's a man with many enemies who were probably plotting before Chuck was even born. This is not the end of Bart's takedown.

Christina: Bart Bass is going down. Microfilm or not... it's going to happen.

Steve: No, Bart's totally in the clear now, and Chair is done for. Sorry, just wanted to see if I could write that with a straight face. That guy's got more skeletons than ... someplace with a lot of skeletons.

4. No Georgina, barely any Sage, and no Steven: Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Courtney: Thumbs up! I don't mind Sage all that much, and Steven I don't hate when I'm not picturing him on 7th Heaven... but Georgina I can not stand! She used to be bearable but has gotten worse over the past few guest stints If I never see the character again, I won't mind.

Leigh: I like a good dose of Georgie, Steven is whatever, but I am so sick of Sage (and the writers) thinking she can best Serena and Blair. Even though fashion trumped five family loyalty, I am so sick of her!

Christina: Thumbs up, for sure. There's hardly any time left, and all focus ought to be on our core characters. Forget about the rest.

Steve: Thumbs up. I do enjoy Georgina, but sometimes less is more. As for Steven and Sage, I don't dislike either with a passion, but knowing that the show is coming to a close and having them be such a focal point of Gossip Girl Season 6 has made it less enjoyable at times. Under these circumstances, it's hard not to view them negatively.

5. Chuck tells Blair they can’t be together... again. What’s next for these two?

Courtney: Make a decision!!!! Will they? Won't they? It's been burned into the ground. The two are in love with each other. They have fought to be together. Is taking down Bart really that big of a deal to keep them apart? I'm thinking not and that ring will be around Blair's finger instead of her neck in the finale. At least, that is my endgame :)

Leigh: Ugh please. We all know Chuck goes dark and Blair saves him. It's how they do. Three episodes left, but they aren't gonna end the series without making fans happy.

Christina: Seriously?! I can't believe the the tale of Chair together or not together has been dragged out all season long. Of course they'll end up together, but we likely won't get to see it happen until the very end.

Steve: See Gossip Girl finale spoilers. Enough said ... or something. Look, there's plenty of speculation about how things end for Chair, but anything short of a fairy tale will lead to widespread revolt as Leigh says.

Gossip Girl Review: The Best Thanksgiving Ever

$
0
0

Gossip Girl celebrated Thanksgiving tonight, and what a feast it was! With the typical turkey and a full side of drama, holidays on the Upper East Side are never dull.

Do you remember our previous Thanksgivings with Gossip Girl? Flash back with me for a moment – all the way back to pre-Chair, Derena and even Rufly – when the epic couples we’ve been rooting for all this time were just starting out.

Gossip Girl Thanksgiving

Like in real life, family time brought on family problems. Blair was once adjusting to new Waldorf traditions on her favorite day of the year. Thanks to Nate’s dad’s illegal dealings, his family life was far from perfect as money suddenly became an issue. Meanwhile, Chuck and Bart weren’t exactly sharing any fond special father-son moments either.

Although much time has passed, "It's Really Complicated" showed that things simply aren’t all that different. Chair started out apart then together again for only the umpteenth time. Derena kicked off the installment together in bed, and then ended with Lonely Boy as lonely as ever. As for Rufly, the former of the duo couldn’t care less for reconciliation.

This time around, Nate is facing much more than money issues with The Spectator. He’s also got Bart Bass using him as a pawn to take down his own best friend. As the plot continues to thicken, we were reminded that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

It all started with Derena’s attempt to throw “the best Thanksgiving ever.” At least that’s what S thought it would be. Unfortunately, the party got crowded really fast when everyone attending had their own agenda.

Chuck felt defeated by Bart and looked more pitiful than ever as he mentioned more than once – unfortunately, for us – that he couldn’t be with Blair just because he hadn’t taken down his father. He was seriously playing the world’s saddest song on the world’s smallest violin.

Fortunately, thanks to Pocahontas (High five to B for adding several awesome Gossip Girl Quotes, but not for her outfit), John Rolfe was able to brush the dirt off his shoulders and get back on operation expose Bart. Chuck, with B and Nate’s help, connected the dots between Bruce Caplan’s sudden drowning and Sheikh Hassan’s accident.

Chuck’s finally got Lily back on his team, but Bart so easily killed off the two men who could have put him behind bars. Would he be so quick to do the same to his own son? I’m thinking so, and that seems like a safe bet based on next week’s promo.

Chuck vs. Bart

Elsewhere, Georgina, of course uninvited, made an appearance at the VDW’s loft. By the way, what’s up with Vanya and company letting just about anyone upstairs? Anyhow, after struggling to decide which chapter to publish on his beloved S, Dan went with the honest and brutal approach. The truth telling story about the golden girl who falls from grace, a faux love story, and S’s relentless daddy issues obviously didn't fare too well with S.

Then, Derena called it quits after Dan admitted that he orchestrated the stuck elevator and that he felt like he did nothing wrong in telling the truth about S. Of course S couldn’t understand how he could love her, but write those hurtful words both at the same time.

Dan has been a self-righteous jerk lately, but every word about Serena treating him like a visitor all this time was hardly true. He may have never felt like an equal and was seen as the poor kid from Brooklyn by some. However, Dan’s always been equally judgmental about the UES. And honestly, was he entirely wrong about Serena?

After all, it took her all but two seconds to call Steven again right after saying goodbye to Dan. Side note: Speaking of Steven, why is Sage still here? Did Nate forget she was in high school again? That girl needs to go. Nate could do so much better, and it looks like Derena seems to be over, so maybe there’s hope for Serenate.

Dan’s writing his final chapter and claims that his plan all along has been going his way. Chair’s going to war. Are you ready? I, for one, can’t wait to see what happens next as Manhattan’s elite is sure to leave us saying OMFGG.

Dan on Thanksgiving

Other Thoughts

  • Lily was “so proud” Serena went grocery shopping. What an accomplishment!
  • Sage didn’t mind Chuck creeping while she and Nate were making out. Chuck’s response: “She’s a keeper.” This is the Chuck I much prefer over the walloping loser he was for most of the night.
  • The "Seventh Heaven" reference for Barry Watson was delivered perfectly by B.
  • Nate punched Dan. Let’s say it all together now: FINALLY!
  • Where were Ivy and William? …not that I really care, but just wondering.

All in all, Gossip Girl continued its string of solid episodes for the final season.

So, what did you think TV Fanatics? Are you ready for the final two remaining installments? Hit the comments now to share your predictions and don’t forget to return tomorrow to chime in on our Gossip Girl Round Table!

With just two episodes to go, Gossip Girl is building toward an epic conclusion.

Will it be an epically tragic one? Next week's promo hints at the possibility ...

Following last night's Thanksgiving episode (see our Gossip Girl review of "It's Really Complicated"), the penultimate chapter awaits, and if this week's events are any indication, a ruthless Bart will stop at nothing.

Meanwhile, Dan and Serena came out of "the best Thanksgiving ever" in a far different place than where they started. His next chapter should be awfully interesting, especially after Nate cleaned his clock.

So what's on tap? According to the CW synopsis for "The Revengers" ...

  • After a run-in with a paranoid Bart, Blair grows alarmingly concerned for Chuck’s safety.
  • Confident that his father will never hurt him, Chuck makes a potentially life-changing deal.
  • Wanting to help Chuck, Blair devises a plan with the help of Serena, Georgina and Sage.
  • Nate's  financial dilemma finally lands him in a place that he never thought he would be.

What do you think will happen next week, and how do you think it'll set the sage for the grand finale December 17? Share your comments on last night, the promo above, and all things Gossip Girl with us below!

Welcome back, once again, to TV Fanatic's weekly Gossip Girl Round Table Q&A discussion! Below, our panelists break down all aspects of this week's Gossip Girl episode, "It's Really Complicated."

Courtney: Favorite quote definitely had to be Blair's 7th heaven reference. My least favorite? That pantsuit she was wearing.

Christina: I loved when Nate sucker-punched Lonely Boy. That was awesome!

Leigh: When Lily called Chuck from the limo to tell him she believed him I was overjoyed. Also she read the slides with a jewelry loop per Cece's suggestion on how to catch a guilty husband. I love when Cece presents herself from beyond the grave. She was a bad bitch!

Steve: "Nate, I came up here to make out, not to watch you and Chuck play WikiLeaks." No way she knows what that is, but gotta admire Sage for being forward at least.

Gossip Girl Final Season Round Table Logo

2. How did this Thanksgiving episode compare to Thanksgivings past?

Courtney:  I expected more since it's the final Thanksgiving, but it was pretty good. Just about everyone was in the same room and Dan got punched. Sounds good to me!

Christina: What was supposed to be the best Thanksgiving ever just made me miss the early Thanksgiving episodes with Jenny and Eric. I’m always down for a full side of drama, but it simply didn’t measure up to the best of times. Then again, I’ve been re-watching Gossip Girl Seasons 1-2 so pardon my nostalgia.

Leigh: This was probably number two, behind Gossip Girl Season 3's "Treasure of the Serena Madre" when Serena was having an affair with Tripp Vanderbilt.

Steve: Have to agree with Leigh, that was an all-timer. I enjoyed this week's episode but all things Seasons 5-6 are just viewed through a different lens; it's hard to compare the current GG to the first three years.

3. Biggest Surprise: Nate is back with Sage again, Bart is now Dan's role model or that all it took was Pocahontas to get John Rolfe out of his funk?

Courtney: I'm going with Bart being Dan's role model. As douchey as he has been, he's better than wanting to be Bart Bass.

Christina: Dan’s gone Dark Side for some time now. Chair’s… Chair. As for Nate, between being blackmailed by Bart and the stress at The Spectator, I think he somehow forgot Sage was in high school still. Two episodes to go, so here’s to hoping that high school hipster is gone for good by next week.

Leigh: If Bart is really Dan's role model he's gone wayyy off the deep end. Going from idolizing Rufus to Bart is a 180.

Steve: All fairly surprisingly, but Bart being anyone's role model has to take the cake. You're basically selling your soul to the devil with zero hope of redemption at that point ... unless you're playing the devil ...

4. Team Dan or Team NJBC?

Courtney: There is no possible way I could be on team Dan after his Thanksgiving stunt. He was just cold.

Christina: Team NJBC! Sure, Dan’s only been truth telling with every single one of his exposes. However, he’s also been brutally honest and hurting every single one of his once so-called friends and even his own family. Dan said he never felt equal and has always been judged for being a poor Brooklynite, but he judges Serena and the rest of the gang all just the same.

Leigh: Is this a real question? NJBC FTW! Dan is mad at them because of how they treat each other and because of their "world?" Why didn't he just stay at NYU and live an awesome new life with people he got along with and who revered him. Why was he always trying to win over the UES, a place he hated and resented? None of it makes sense to me.

Steve: I've always thought Dan was an interesting character, unpredictable and genuinely conflicted as to what kind of person he wanted to be. That said, there is no Team Dan anymore. I'd have punched him too.

5. Dan's apparently the man with a plan. What's his final chapter about?

Courtney: I'm thinking it's about all of them. His desire to be part of the UES and how you can never fully make it in. Maybe it will be his redemption chapter where he tells the truth about himself.

Christina: Well, I think it’s safe to say that the writers have practically destroyed Dan Humphrey. I hope for his sake that the final chapter isn’t just more badmouthing. Maybe Dan’s turn for the worse is actually for the better and he’s somehow planning to help take down Bart. I just don’t see how else his character could be redeemed at this point – that is, if he cares about redemption at all.

Leigh: I've thought about this and I truly have no clue where this kid is going. Is he going to reveal it was all an experiment or character study? Dan flip flops too much to make a real assumption on what his Final Chapter could be.

Steve: Dan is about to be outed as Gossip Girl, having documented the entire series as the ultimate insider-outsider from the beginning (and conveniently disparaging himself as Lonely Boy to throw people off). Obviously I'm just grasping at straws here and have no idea who Gossip Girl is, but wouldn't that be sort of awesome?

6. Based on next week's promo, is Chuck about to make a huge mistake?

Courtney: Chuck always has a plan, especially with Blair, Nate, and lily at his side. He will make a mistake, but not one he can't fix during the finale.

Christina: That’s what they want us to think! However, I think the plane crash will actually play a huge role in operation take down Bart with Chuck playing dead this time, only to prove Bart’s involvement with yet another mysterious transportation accident.

Leigh: No, Chuck is about to pull a Victoria Grayson and she's one of the biggest badasses of all time. No way Chuck dies, but rather frames Bart for a third person mysteriously dying on Bass Transportation, just like Christina said!

Steve: Based on these Gossip Girl finale photos, no, he won't be plunging to his death. I suspect, however, that the fallout from this will extend beyond next week and possibly throw a wrench into his plan to wed B.

Gossip Girl Review: Tag Teams and Takedowns

What an hour. Gossip Girl aired its penultimate episode, "The Revengers” that took us viewers all over the place. There was scheming, crying, a possible death, and even an arrest. Let’s talk GG.

Bart Bass & Beyond. Taking the stage in this installment was none other than the evil Bart Bass. Seriously, I have watched a lot of TV...even a lot of bad TV. These shows have been full of corrupt characters, but still, Bart takes the cake. He has layers of evil and it doesn’t help that he is so smart with his crimes. Could you imagine having a father worse than BB? Yup, don’t think there is one.

Chuck continued his war with his father and it finally started to peak interest again. These two had been having a tug of war for far too long. The fact that Bart would try to convince his son to leave the country and never come back is just crazy. What’s more crazy? The fact that he tried to kill his own son in a plane crash.

Looks like this war is coming to an end. The scuffle between the Bass boys ended with Bart falling off the roof of the building where his Man of the Year party was still going on. Not that this hasn’t been entertaining, but I personally will be glad to get rid of the real Basshole.

Like Father, Like Son. Nate, having played both teams of the Bass war, ended up in jail just like his Daddy. What kind of jail is this that his high school girlfriend could just pop in and talk to him? Regardless, it brought back The Captain and that is always enjoyable. Nate shared some sweet father/son moments and gave him the inspiration to move forward...with the help of Sage.

Nate still has all of research on the identity of Gossip Girl. Is he finally going to take her down? He better, and hopefully he will use Blair Waldorf and her b*tches. If not, at least his mug shot made it on to TMZ...

Best Team Ever. This isn’t the first time the friends of GG have teamed up for a serious scheme. But I must say, Blair and the girls were awesome. They did just enough to creep out Bart and all get along, even if for just one night. Not to mention, they all looked flawless. Sage has grown on me, Ivy’s raspy voice is always welcome (when she’s useful), and even Georgina was likable.

The GG fans have made the Georgina argument as tension filled as the Dair/Derena/Serenate/Chair fights. Is she a welcome character or is she just a little too nutty? Has she worn out her welcome in the UES? Most appearances by G are entertaining, but have started to grow thin. Does anyone else think this or do you wish she had been a full time character throughout the series?

Dan On The Move. Humphrey is moving on up! Dan made the bold move to get an apartment in Serena’s building, after admitting he still loves her and going against Bart. Is it enough to get S to stay or is she really heading to the sunny skies of California? He slipped an envelope into her bags; has to be his nice Serena chapter, right?

Will Derena get back together just in time for the show to come to an end? I hope so, or there are going to be some seriously angry shippers.

Bart Protege

The End is Here. With only one episode left of the series, what can we expect from the writers? There have been Gossip Girl Spoilersall over the place for the past several weeks. Looks like there may be some returning characters, some saying goodbye, and maybe some saying something a little more important. Will Gossip Girl be revealed? Will Serena leave the UES side for good? Will Lily reappear? Will Serena really leave? Leaving behind her BFF would really put a hole in the heart of this show.

It’s going to be a long week waiting for the series finale. This gives us time to look back at the Gossip Girl Castwe’re getting ready to say goodbye too, as well as reliving the best GG Quotesover the past six seasons.

Welcome back, once again, to TV Fanatic's weekly Gossip Girl Round Table Q&A discussion! Below, our panelists break down all aspects of the penultimate Gossip Girl episode, "The Revengers."

Courtney: Who knew Nate watches Homeland?"I don't know how Claire Danes does this! It hurts my head." Classic.

Christina: The final seconds leading up to Bart plummeting to his death were definitely my favorite. I can’t remember laughing so hard during Gossip Girl. And that amazing score gave me chills – the same kind I get from watching The Lion King, Batman or even Days of Our Lives. Sarcasm, intended.

Leigh: Loved Serena, Blair, and Chuck just lounging in the Oak Room waiting for a scheme. Something about the familiarity and the way Serena gave instructions so easily was just beautifully familiar.

Steve: "Bart Bass may be able to fool the FBI but he has never had to face off against Blair Waldorf and her bitches." Spoken like the true HBIC we know and love. Also Dan calling Chuck his "inspiration."

2. Will Serena really leave the UES for good or will Dan's envelope trick bring her back to her love and her friends?

Courtney: To use Carrie Bradshaw's words... Serena is like the Chrysler Building. It would be oh so wrong for her to be anywhere but in NYC. All of the mess that will unfold from the Bart situation and Dan's confession of love will keep the Golden Girl of NYC exactly where she should be.

Christina: Of course S will be back. Now, will it be because of Dan’s words that get her back to where she belongs? Probably, but I hope she also remembers it was also his words that sent her with bags in tow, too.

Leigh: Well duh. But WHAT is in the envelope??? Surely it's more than just the other article. Is it the GG evidence too?

Steve: All I know is that Dan's either a better writer or sleuth than we thought, or both, because it's totally gonna bring her back and they're totally gonna live happily ever after (down the road, if not next week).

3. Blair teamed up with her b!tches for a war against Bart. Fun and entertaining or are you just plain tired of seeing G, Ivy, and Sage on your screen... especially in the final season?

Courtney: I'm always up for Blair and the girls on a takedown. I'm usually not a huge fan of Georgina and I haven't loved that some of the newer supporting characters have taken up so much screen time in the final season. But I have to admit, I thoroughly enjoyed G, Ivy, and Sage working with Blair and Serena.

Christina: I can’t say that I’ve ever cared for Geor-GINA, the strep throat-stricken Ivy, or hipster Sage. However, B and her bitches were fun and manipulative as ever.

Leigh: Yup loved the whole thing. Sage has grown on me, Ivy is ok, G cracks me up and Blair really did gather the best bitches and schemers. About time she got rid of her amateur minions.

Steve: They definitely took up too much time, or it felt that way at certain points, but without a doubt Team Blair Bitch Project rose to the occasion as a united front in this installment.

4. Bart Bass took the plunge, falling off the roof at his Man of the Year Party. Say goodbye to the dearly departed.

Courtney: To the most awful father in Gossip Girl history... you made a bigger splash with your faux death a few seasons ago. This season, Chuck is not alone in wanting to get rid of you. You were a mean, untrustworthy man who took advantage of everyone. You will not be missed... although your eyes might be.

Christina: Dearest Basstard, goodbye again. I’m not sure that you will be missed by anyone, but we certainly won’t forget you for all your evil wrongdoings and giving Chuck major daddy issues.

Leigh: Oh I'm sorry I was unable to find my eulogy from Gossip Girl Season 2 when we buried him the first time.

Steve: I'm sorry, I haven't finished laughing long enough to pen the man the second eulogy we all richly deserve. That scene was a solid 9.5 on the Unintentional Comedy TV Scale.

5. In honor of next week's finale, what is your all-time favorite GG memory?

Courtney: How can I choose? I still love the first season and the original but ridiculous awesomeness. My all time favorite may be the entire "Victor Victrola" episode from Season 1.

Christina: If I had to choose one (this took me nearly an hour), it would have to be the Chair scene from Season 4 with B in the gorgeous red gown and Chuck in plain, simple clothes. Chuck: “Your world would be easier if I didn’t come back.” Blair: “That’s true, but it wouldn’t be my world without you in it.” Epic!

Leigh: The creation of the NJBC when Serena told Blair she "killed someone." That was the first time the "non judging breakfast club" was used. Happier memory? The whole crew in the Hamptons for "Summer Kind of Wonderful."

Steve: Being able to discuss it in reviews and Round Tables with my fellow panelists during its glory days and even now. It's been a blast and something I'll forever be grateful for.

6. Endgame is upon us! Make your prediction(s) for the series finale.

Courtney: Blair and Chuck = happily ever after... well after the Bart disaster. The flash forward will show us a mini Bass. Serena stays in the UES and gets back together with Dan. Sage and Nate keep their relationship going. Lily will end up alone. Jenny and Eric will return for the reveal of Gossip Girl.

Christina: Well, I fail at trying not to read Gossip Girl spoilers. So, I can’t exactly make any predictions, but here’s what I want to see happen: Manhattan’s elite to bow out on a high, dramatic note. I want to see scheme teams, surprising twists and turns, NJBC, Chair, Serenate (still hoping), and maybe even Rufly.

Leigh: Chuck and Blair get married right before Chuck gets questioned by the police. Serena comes back and tries to take down GG with Dan and Nate. I still have no clue why Juliet comes back. Flash forward to a Dan and Serena wedding which is why Eric and Jenny return. Plus a Baby Bass!

Steve: I think Chair will get married before the much-talked about flash forward, as Leigh says, and the glimpse into the future may reveal the fate of many cast members - including the title character.

7. One last time ... who is Gossip Girl?

Courtney: The same person many have thought it to be for years: Eric Van Der Woodsen.

Christina: Jenny Humphrey! Would there be some plot holes if it were the infamous raccoon-eyed fashionista? Sure, but this is Gossip Girl after all. We shouldn’t expect anything less than inexplicable plotting.

Leigh: Nelly Yuki? Juliet? Rufus? I'm stumped. Truly. But Kristen Bell does have a cameo...

Steve: I'd love to say Dan, because it would be the best-ever twist no one saw coming, but I don't see the writers going there with his character. Not now. Juliet strikes me as another dark horse pick.
